Still spending two hours on every translator assignment?

Cross-checking candidate lists against track records, emailing offers, starting over when someone declines. tralio automates assignment with scoring and cascading offers.

BEFORE

Manual work in Excel and email

  • ✕Pick candidates by comparing lists and track records
  • ✕Email offers and wait for replies
  • ✕Start over whenever someone declines
  • ✕Assign checkers manually, separately
  • ✕Miss deadlines without noticing
AFTER

Automated with tralio

  • Candidates ranked automatically by score
  • Offers sent automatically to the best translator
  • Declined or expired offers go to the next candidate
  • Checkers assigned automatically once the translator accepts
  • Deadline alerts sent 48 and 24 hours ahead

How it works

Candidate ranking by score

Candidates are scored on track record (60%) + availability (40%) + a series-familiarity bonus (up to +20 points), for fair, data-driven assignment.

Automatic re-offers in a cascade

The best candidate receives an individual offer first (3-hour limit). If it is declined or expires, the offer goes to the next candidate automatically, so assignment never stalls waiting for someone. Checker assignment works the same way: as soon as the translator accepts, the checker offer starts automatically, and the same person is never assigned to both roles.

Offer deadlines handled for you

Every offer has a 3-hour limit. An automatic check every 15 minutes finds expired offers and re-offers to the next candidate — admins just watch it run.

Staged deadline alerts

Translators are alerted 48 and 24 hours before delivery, by email, in-app and Slack. The same alert is not repeated within 24 hours, preventing notification fatigue.

Stall detection and escalation

Assignments with no update for 72 hours are detected automatically. The translator gets a reminder and admins get a Slack escalation, so problems surface early.

FAQ

Q. What happens if every candidate declines?
A. If all candidates decline or let the offer expire, admins are notified that no candidate is available and can switch to manual assignment.
Q. Can I override automatic assignment manually?
A. Yes. Admins can review the result and assign a different translator manually, combining automation with human judgment.
Q. Can I customize the scoring weights?
A. Weights are currently fixed at 60% track record and 40% availability. Customization is planned for a future update.
